Cafe Mode

Jan 2025 - Mar 2025

As Mode UW’s first-ever fundraising event, Cafe Mode was a one-day pop-up cafe inspired by modern Korean aesthetics and brutalist design elements. The event served as both a creative activation and community-building initiative for Mode UW.

What I Did:
  • Developed the visual identity and theme, using rocks and shades of grey to evoke a calming yet bold cafe atmosphere.
  • Managed a 3-month planning timeline, delegating deliverables across creative and marketing teams while overseeing logistics and financial forecasting.
  • Selected and designed the venue setup to optimize foot traffic and visual storytelling, transforming the Secretary’s apartment lobby into a cohesive brand experience.
  • Directed the marketing campaign, including branded infographics, behind-the-scenes content, product photography, and cross-organization promotion.
  • Created and refined menu offerings based on aesthetic cohesion and trend forecasting (e.g., banana milk matcha, black sesame cold brew).

What We Achieved:
  • Doubled our original fundraising goal, achieving a 62.3% profit margin.
  • Delivered one of Mode UW’s most memorable and high-performing activations, with the banana milk matcha becoming a crowd favorite.
  • Demonstrated strong brand-building and event execution under real-world time and budget constraints.
  • Strengthened Mode UW’s creative identity and visibility on campus through experiential marketing.
